Proximity or contact leaves specific, accurate pre-Flood memories in the mind of a living person. Not visions — felt memories experienced as the person's own. The historical detail is too precise to be dismissed as imagination.
The last documented living Rephaim stood 10–15 feet with proportionate capability. Og of Bashan's iron bed measured 13.5 feet (Deuteronomy 3:11). David's forces required coordinated military engagement to overcome remnants in the Valley of Rephaim.

Isaiah 26:14 is blunt: 'They are now dead, they live no more; their spirits do not rise.' And yet Job 26:5 says 'The dead are in deep anguish, those beneath the waters.' Both refer to Rephaim. The contradiction is the data point. They are not fully dead. Not alive. This is the most precise description of a liminal entity in the ancient record — written three thousand years ago.
The Rephaim appear across multiple biblical genres—genealogy, law, prophecy, wisdom literature, and historical narrative. This consistency suggests a recognized category of being understood across ancient Hebrew tradition.
